Durst Kerridge is Hiring a Litigation Associate Near Cincinnati, OH

Durst Kerridge is a growing boutique litigation firm with an immediate need for a litigation associate.

We litigate complex commercial disputes in state courts, federal courts, and arbitral fora, and also maintain a substantial Appellate Practice. Representative matters and more information about our practice can be found on our website. Read more about us at our website durst.law.

We are seeking a candidate with 1-5 years of civil litigation experience (Law Clerks may apply as well). An in-depth understanding of the Ohio and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure is a must, as well as strong legal research and writing ability. Deposition and courtroom experience would be a plus but are not mandatory. The ideal candidate would have experience handling cases as lead counsel from start to finish. However, attorneys with less experience will be considered as well.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in selection and onboarding of new cases
  • Preparing cases from inception through trial and appeal
  • Legal research
  • Preparing initial pleadings
  • Preparing and answering discovery requests
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Briefing, including drafting of dispositive motions, memoranda in opposition and appellate briefs
  • Court appearances
  • Client interaction

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the bar of at least one state (Ohio greatly preferred)
  • 2-5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in state and federal court
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and take ownership of projects
  • Bonus: Fluency in Spanish or another language
